Integrated Master of Science and EdD (M.S.C.P. + EdD) Requirements
The Master of Science in Counseling Psychology (MSCP) to Doctor of Education (EdD) in Educational Psychology Pathway requirements for eligibility, program structure, and implementation:
Eligibility:
Applicants must have completed the MSCP degree from Chaminade University of Honolulu.
The pathway is exclusively for Chaminade University of Honolulu MSCP graduates.
Non-Chaminade MSCP graduates may transfer a maximum of 6 credits (two 3-credit courses).
Program Structure:
Upon completion, students earn an EdD in Educational Psychology with a Concentration in Mental Health Counseling.
The EdD program requires 60 credits and typically takes three years.
MSCP graduates may substitute up to 24 credits from their MSCP degree, potentially reducing completion time to two years (36 credits).
Students must complete the full MSCP program (60 credits) before entering the EdD program.
Completion time may vary due to the EdD program's cohort model, transfer credits, and time needed to complete the dissertation requirement.
Course Substitutions:
Specific MSCP courses can substitute for EdD courses, including those in ethics, counseling theories, group facilitation, career development, cross-cultural counseling, practicum, and internship.
Remaining EdD Requirements:
Students must complete remaining core Educational Psychology courses and Research and Dissertation courses.

The EdD Director verifies completion of the Chaminade University MSCP degree.
