First Year Experience Seminar (CUH-100)

Chaminade University realizes the importance of supporting students in their transition from high school to college. Therefore, all first-year students entering the fall semester are enrolled in CUH-100. This is an incoming student-only, one-semester-hour seminar course, which provides an introduction to the nature of university education, the distinctive features of Chaminade, and a general orientation to the functions and resources of the University. The course is designed to help new students adjust to the university, gain a better understanding of the learning process, develop critical thinking skills, and focus on career exploration. The course provides a support group in this critical first year by examining problems common to this type of student population. CUH-100 is conducted in small groups by either faculty or administrative personnel accompanied by a peer mentor.
